Miss Cat
Jacques, the captain of Miss Cat, is a very experienced captain who has sailed the Red Sea coast from Port Suez to Massawa in Eritrea. He is French and speaks good English and several other languages. He is a very experienced diver. He is an excellent cook. The yacht is fully equipped and has a compressor for filling diving air tanks.
Tony, the English captain of Lady Coppélia, is also a very experienced captain and has sailed the Mediterranean for 7 years and is experienced in sailing the Red Sea coast and the associated reefs. The yacht is fully equipped with all the latest navigation equipment.
Both yachts were on the Vasco de Gama Rally and have done the trip from Turkey, through the Suez canal, down the Gulf of Suez and up the Gulf of Aqaba to Jordan, Israel and back into Egypt..
Importantly, they understand the Egyptian paper work and the way the Egyptians work, which is essential to making the passage as easy as possible and keeping costs down as much as possible.
